Scene 1 – The Birds on the Wire

The afternoon sun shone brightly as Nova, Milo, and Dr. Zaptain rode their bikes along a quiet road near the park.

Milo slowed down suddenly and pointed upward.

Several small birds sat calmly on the power lines above them.

Milo: “WAIT.”

Nova stopped her bike beside him.

Nova: “What?”

Milo pointed at the wires overhead.

Milo: “Aren’t those electric wires?”

Nova looked up carefully.

Nova: “Very electric.”

Milo stared at the birds in disbelief.

Milo: “Then why aren’t they getting shocked?”

Dr. Zaptain stopped his bike and glanced upward calmly.

Dr. Zaptain: “An excellent observation, Cadet Milo.”

One bird suddenly hopped farther along the wire.

Milo blinked.

Milo: “It’s touching the wire ON PURPOSE.”
