Scene 1 – The Dry Sand

Rain covered the garden in tiny sparkling drops.

Water dripped from the fence while puddles formed across the grass.

Milo stepped carefully around the mud.

Milo: “Everything is soaked.”

Nova suddenly stopped near the edge of the garden path.

Nova: “Wait.”

She pointed down at a small patch of sand beside the stones.

It looked completely dry.

Milo crouched immediately.

Milo: “That makes no sense.”

He touched the sand carefully.

Dry grains rolled between his fingers.

Milo: “How is this dry after all that rain?”

Dr. Zaptain stepped outside carrying a watering can.

He noticed the strange patch of sand and smiled slightly.

Dr. Zaptain: “Ah. I was wondering where I left that.”
