Scene 1 – A Kite That Wouldn’t Stay Up

Milo ran across the open field, holding the string of his kite tightly.

Milo: “Come on… just stay up!”

The kite lifted for a moment… then suddenly dropped straight down.

Milo groaned.

Milo: “It was working a second ago!”

Nova looked up at the sky. The clouds moved slowly, but the wind felt strange—sometimes strong, then suddenly gone.

Nova: “The wind keeps changing.”

Milo tried again. The kite lifted quickly… wobbled… then dipped and collapsed.

Milo: “Okay, this is getting personal.”

Just then, a small silver blur zipped past them.

Whirr… bleep… zipp!

Milo jumped.

Milo: “WHAT was that?!”

The silver object hovered in front of them—a small floating sphere with a soft blue glowing ring.

Dr. Zaptain walked up calmly, adjusting his bow tie.

Dr. Zaptain: “Ah. There you are.”

Milo pointed.

Milo: “Professor… your flying metal ball is staring at me.”

The sphere made a cheerful boop!

Dr. Zaptain: “Cadets, meet Zap. My little measuring assistant.”

Nova leaned in, curious.

Nova: “What does he measure?”

Zap’s ring pulsed softly.

Dr. Zaptain: “Things we cannot see.”
